Norbert Varjasi framing up a shot

My path into cinematography started with painting by the Tisza River in Hungary, where I first learned to see light.

I studied cinematography at university in Budapest and took part in workshops like the BSC Masterclass and Terre Di Cinema, which really opened my eyes to different ways of telling stories visually.

Since then, I’ve worked on short films, music videos, and commercials in London, shooting on digital and 8mm, 16mm, 35mm film formats.

I’ve been part of projects of very different scales, from small, hands-on shoots to bigger commercial sets, and I still love taking on passion projects when something or someone sparks my curiosity.

I’m always interested in the people I collaborate with and how they see the world. That exchange is what keeps the work fresh and reminds me why I started doing this in the first place.
